FAQs

Do I need a referral to start physical therapy?
In most cases, no. California allows direct access to physical therapy, meaning you can start treatment without a doctor’s referral. However, some insurance plans may require one for coverage, so we recommend checking with your provider or contacting our office for help.

What should I bring to my first appointment?
Please bring a valid photo ID, your insurance card (if using insurance), and any referral or medical documentation you’ve received. Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows for movement and access to the area being treated.

Do you accept insurance?
Yes, Forward Motion accepts most major insurance plans. We’re happy to verify your benefits before your first visit and explain any out-of-pocket costs. We also offer private pay options for those without insurance or choosing not to use it.

How long is each session?
Sessions typically last between 45 to 60 minutes. Your therapist will tailor each visit to your specific treatment plan and goals, which will be discussed during your initial evaluation.

What conditions do you treat?
We treat a wide range of musculoskeletal and movement-related conditions, including back and neck pain, post-surgical rehab, sports injuries, joint issues, chronic pain, and balance disorders. If you're unsure whether we can help, give us a call—we're happy to guide you.
